FRANKLIN, PA …. While the
temperature in Franklin, PA is still freezing, the Tri-City Speedway
schedule is getting hotter than ever. Special events, 4-Star racing, and
special appearances are locked in and ready to happen at the fast
half-mile track in 2010.
Tri-City Speedway is scheduled to
kick-off with the season opener on Sunday April 25, 2010, featuring
Tri-City’s 4-Star racing program. The weekly program will consist of the
popular Engles Trucking DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds, 4 Your Car
Connection FASTRAK Late Models, Welding Technologies and Shaw Industries
E Mods, and E.F. Rogers Plumbing and Heating Pro Stocks.
As the season begins, May is
turning into a huge month for Tri-City. While the weekly divisions will
always take center stage, special events are invading the schedule as
well. Joining our 4-Star program on May 2nd, Super Sprints will battle
for the checkered in a $2,000-to-win event. For Mother’s Day, Tri-City
owner and promoter H&H Motorsports would like to partner with the
American Cancer Society to help fight breast cancer. More information
will be available about this event shortly.
The biggest night in the 56-year
storied history of Tri-City Speedway will take place on Sunday May
30th. The World of Outlaw Sprints, the premier sanctioning body for
winged sprint car racing, will make its inaugural appearance as the
fastest drivers in the world tackle the fast half-mile track for
$10,000-to-win. Joining the World of Outlaws Sprints will be the popular
United E Mod Series (UEMS) presented by William Southwell & Son Oil.
More information on times and tickets will be released soon.
As May rolls out and June steps
in, Tri-City will keep on track with the weekly 4-Star program before
midseason opens with a bang on Sunday July 4th featuring NASCAR Sprint
Cup driver and former track champion Dave Blaney racing in the Hall of
Fame Classic for Super Sprints, which is a $2,000-to-win show. Also
racing that evening will be the $2,000-to-win BRP Modified Tour Kodiak
Memorial and E Mods presented by Atkinson Fire Safety. Plus, more Super
Sprint action will follow as the infamous All Star Circuit of Champions
Sprints are scheduled to race on Sunday July 18th along with the 4 Your
Car Connection FASTRAK Late Models in a FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series
event and the Welding Technologies and Shaw Industries E Mods.
As the season continues, so does
the action on the Venango County half-mile dirt track. The month of
August is action-packed as the 4-Star program continues every Sunday
with Super Sprint action on August 1st and 15th.
September marks the return of the
Outlaws. The highly anticipated 2010 Oil Region Labor Day Classic
Weekend is scheduled September 4th and 5th at Tri-City, and the World of
Outlaw Late Model Series will once again highlight the racing card on
both nights. The top Late Model teams in the nation will compete in two
50-lap, $10,000-to-win events for the fifth consecutive year at the
legendary track. Past winners at the event include three-time feature
winner Steve Francis, two-time feature winner Shane Clanton, Rick
Eckert, Chub Frank, Dan Stone, and Tim Fuller.
In addition to the World of
Outlaws Late Model Series, the Super Sprints, FASTRAK Late Models, and
William Southwell & Son UEMS E Mods will compete both nights of the big
event. Negotiations continue to make at least one night of FASTRAK Late
Model action part of the FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series.
“I’m excited for the 2010 season
to start,” noted second-year track owner Rich Hetrick. “Get ready is
all I have to say because it’s going to be incredible. We have an
amazing committee that is dedicated and determined to make this season
the best yet, and it will be.”
More information on all of these
events is coming soon.
Tri-City Speedway is owned and
operated by H&H Motorsports, which started promoting Sunday night racing
at the popular facility in 2009. The DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds,
FASTRAK Late Models, E Mods and Pro Stocks race each week at the Venango
County half-mile dirt oval. Tri-City is located seven miles north of
Franklin, Pa., off State Route 417. |
