TRI-CITY SPEEDWAY RAINED OUT FOR THIRD TIME IN 2006

   FRANKLIN, PA  ... For the third time this season, heavy rains washed out the racing action at Tri-City Speedway on Sunday night.

   “It started raining here at the track around 1:00 p.m.,” noted Tri-City Co-Promoter Mike Graham. “It started to get worse and the weather is supposed to deteriorate throughout the afternoon and evening, so we have no choice but to call off the races.”

   The event, sponsored by WDDH 97.5 “The Hound” radio station, included the Pittsburgh Circle Track Club Senior Series Pro Stocks. Track officials will review the schedule in order to determine whether that event can be rescheduled.

   Those families with race tickets that children received at school for the June 25^th show may use those tickets for the next two weeks only.

   Next week’s Jim’s Super Market Super Fan of the Week award is still worth $500 to be divided between a lucky race fan and the winner of the Schwab’s Ford DIRT Modified feature.

   Tri-City Speedway will celebrate Independence Day next Sunday July 2^nd with a five-star racing program that includes the 4 Your Car Connection Super Sprints, Schwab's Ford DIRT Modifieds, RPM Auto Sales/Shawgo Real Estate E Mods, E.F. Rogers Plumbing & Heating Pro Stocks and Klapec Auto Body Thundercars. The E Mods will compete in the first race of this season’s Fame RV Center E Series. In addition, the ever popular Giant Eagle/Edward Jones Investments Fireworks Extravaganza will highlight the nighttime skies above the Venango County half-mile oval. Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m. Adult grandstand admission will be a family friendly $11.
