TRI-CITY SPEEDWAY
LOSES SECOND SHOW OF 2007 TO RAIN
by Brian Spaid
June 3, 2007
FRANKLIN, PA ...
For the third week in a row, Tri-City Speedway faced the threat of wet
weather, and, for the second time in 2007, Mother Nature scored the lone
win of the night as the races were rained out.
“The weather was
frustrating today,” said Tri-City Co-Promoter Roger Crick. “We had a few
showers hit the track this afternoon before a heavier shower hit a
little after 3:00 p.m. With more rain building to the southeast and rain
forecast throughout the night, there was no way that we were going to be
able to complete tonight’s races.”
As a result of
the rainout, the first race for the 2007 Allegheny Toyota E Series was
rescheduled for June 17th.
Tickets for
last night’s races for students from Clarion-Limestone, North Clarion,
St Michael’s, Immaculate Conception, Seton Catholic will be honored for
the next two weeks only.
Another five-star
show will be featured at Tri-City Speedway next Sunday June 10th,
as the 4 Your Car Connection Super Sprints, Schwab's Ford DIRTcar Big
Block Modifieds, RPM Auto Sales/Shawgo Real Estate E Mods, E.F. Rogers
Plumbing & Heating Pro Stocks and Klapec Auto Body Thundercars compete
at the Venango County half-mile oval. The Pro Stocks will run their
first 20-lap William R. Karns Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning
Detroit Iron Pro Stock Series race of the season after the event was
rained out on May 21st. It will be WDDH 97.5 “The Hound”
Night at the track as the first One-on-One Spectator Races of the season
occur at the end of the show. Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at
6 p.m. Adult grandstand admission will be a family friendly $11.
